Shweta Basu started her career as a child artist.
She added her mother’s maiden name Basu to her screen name.
At a tender age of 11 years she did her debut on television with the serial Kutumb in 2002 and in the same year she also did her Bollywood debut with the movie Makdee. Here she played dual roles named Chunni and Munni.
She also received the National Film Award as Best Child Artist for this film.
After the success of Makdee, offers started pouring into Shweta for different projects.
She later did other television serials like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Karishma Kaa Karishma.
