‘Ramesh Bhatkar’ was born on 3rd August 1949 in Kolhapur. He was married to High Court Judge Mridula Bhatkar and has a son named Harshavardhan Bhatkar. Ramesh Bhatkar‘s father name is Snehal Bhatkar a music director, composer, and singer.
He started his career in the early 70’s. Marathi Theatre was his first love, apart from this he was also a winner of Swimming. He worked as front role actor in “Ashroonchi Zaali Phule” in 1975.

He has received lot of awards for his remarkable presence on screen, out of which recent was Jeevan Gaurav Award (Life Time Achievement Award).
“Ramesh Bhatkar” took his last breathe on 4th February 2019 at the age of 70 years in Mumbai’s Elizabeth Hospital. He was battling against Cancer since a year.
